Tips for using accessories in aluminium systems

• The frequency of cleaning depends on the environment, therefore, it should be biannual in rural/urban areas and quarterly in industrial or marine areas. This prevents pitting corrosion caused by saline or ferrous deposits.

• For cleaning, it is recommended to use water with a neutral pH detergent (5-8). The use of acidic or alkaline solvents is prohibited, as they degrade the protective oxide layer of aluminium.

• As for protection on construction sites, bear in mind that contact with cement, lime or gypsum (highly alkaline) irreversibly stains the finish in minutes. It is recommended to protect the pieces and, in case of splashes, wash immediately with plenty of water before setting.

• Avoid emery or weld projections. Because hot ferrous particles become embedded, they break the passivation layer and initiate galvanic corrosion processes in the fixture.

• Keep the evacuation routes (drains) free of debris, dirt or insects. A clogged drain causes rusting of internal screws and mechanical failure of bearings.

Careful application of these recommendations will allow you to enjoy a good finish and quality for several years. The period will depend on the maintenance given to the accessories.
